What a Coder Looks Like

Code/Art’s CodeYourSelf™ competition combines creativity, art, and coding to inspire more girls to pursue computer science while also helping change society’s view of what a coder looks like.

This competition is for female-identifying or gender non-binary persons living within the U.S. It’s easy enough for first time coders, while still being engaging enough to challenge more experienced coders. As an added challenge, each year’s competition has a unique theme. See terms & conditions.

Deadline: February 18, 2022 @ 11:59 PM EST.

Celebrate Winners at

Code/Art Fest!

Each spring, Code/Art hosts an Awards Ceremony & Tech Conference in Miami, FL. known as Code/Art Fest where the competition winners and finalists are recognized and awarded their prizes.

For participants who cannot attend in person, we will be broadcasting the awards ceremony on Facebook and Youtube and their prizes will be mailed to their shipping address.

Prizes for the winners are awarded both to reward effort and to encourage further exploration of coding. In addition to a cash prize, winners receive a Code/Art T-shirt, a certificate, and have their project printed in Code/Art’s annual #CodeYourSelf book.

2022 Theme

2022 Theme: “On the Go!”: After being in lockdown for over a year, how are you getting back on the go? Whether it’s through exercise, sports, travel, or new beginnings, we’re prompting Code/Artists to seek inspiration from the idea of “moving forward”.
